 REFLECTION

Quote: So can anything published online be trusted? That’s like saying can you ever trust anything that the government tells you. The answer: No, you can’t.”

The main point of this is article is being prudent in searching the web. The web is a powerful tool for learning but it is also a platform for abuse. The information given in the internet should be evaluated and double checked especially when you are doing research it is also safe to read only on trusted websites. The quote in this article caught my attention because it has a good point on why we should trust everything that we see. It is not bad to be prudent in taking information from other people. This article specifically caught my attention because as someone who grew up using technology security has always been a big issue and a problem growing up i had learned a lot about trusting people.

5 Things That I've learned (List down 5 things that you've learned from the article)

  1. Differentiate opinion and facts on the web
  2. News and real life stories why not cant be trusted
  3. Straight forward answer whether to trust everything online
  4. Learned to be prudent in searching the web
  5. Pros and cons in using the web for information

Integrative Questions

1.What are the standards we need to know when evaluating a website if it is a valid source of information?

I chose to write up about this article because as i was browsing the from the many articles to choose from this
specifically caught my attention as I am familiar with the idea or topic of the article. This article specifically caught
my attention because as someone who grew up using technology security has always been a big issue and a problem
growing up i had learned a lot about trusting people and i slowly involved and got better in doing so as when i was a
kid i would give my friends my password for some things and ultimately ended up being a terrible decision as i
would lose them and not have an idea on how or who too it away from me. But now as i got older and even more
now as i took a computer course i always emphasize security as i know more about it. Just recently my friends
cousin got hacked and that hacker decided to message everyone on her contacts asking for there password willingly
a lot gave it not knowing it was a hacker, it came to the point where it reached me and i new something was up so i
did not give my password but for some reason the hacker was still able to find out my accounts password but
thankfully i set up a two factor authentication which i recently learned before all that happened in which my account
asks for code even if you have the right password
