First Impression: I think the concept of Self Drving cars are a bit risky but I see the use of this of some situations especially for people who drive alone.
Quote: “Should a car manufacturer be allowed to sell cheaper cars outfitted with cheaper sensors?”
Upon reading the essay, I gained a lot of insights especially a brief background on Self Driving Cars, Companies involved, status of the current tech and improvements, The ethical question on who is to blame when it malfunctions. The quote contains a question which really caught my attention. Knowing that in today’s market, many companies have tried to replicate or copy their competitors product, but assuring it that it will be a competitive product that is cheaper. Making the product cheaper for the masses. The downside of this is a cheap product would entail cost cutting and it would mean removing some features or parts that are either are not essential or just replacing it with a cheaper raw material hence it could compromise the quality of the finished product. This just for the sake of making a product competitive.
