When Sharing Isn't Caring

"Sharing Precaution"

First Impression

My first impression after reading the title is about the not caring of the things you share to others. Like everyone is indipendent that they don’t need anybody to help them anymore.

Quote

" Today’s generation of parents is made up of people who’ve grown up with technology and are at ease sharing information in an online community. But we have yet to see the full impact this sharing has on the children whose young lives are being played out on an international medium—the internet."

Reflection Proper

The article is about these parents who are more likely to post informative pictures and videos of their children on facebook, instagram, twitter etc. For me, this is something new because I grew up in province, a place where internet is not really that popular, you cant post anything, search anything, andread other peoples profile. The time I started studying here in Manila, I did enjoyed using my smartphone to surf the internet. Post pictures after class, post where I am going, and I even tried to talk to strangers using some sites.  Not knowing that some of these people have other intentions besides talking. Then my friend warned me to be cautious because I dont even know who can see my post. My parents doesnt know how to use these things during my childhood days so there is nothing that will make me embarrass in the future. But now that I was informed that these kind of people exist in the internet world, I now know my limits in posting anything on the internet by the time I have children in the future.

5 Things That I've learned

  1. We must not post everything that is happening in our life on the internet.
  2. We must be very cautious on what we should post on the internet.
  3. We must not post any genealogical details.
  4. Any information you post on the internet is not a good idea.
  5. Pictures and Videos that you post 17yrs ago will affect the future of the kid.

5 Integrative Questions

  1. Why is it that this generation is so into the internet world?
  2. How is that your data can be collected by big data companies?
  3. What can you do to avoid the harm of the internet to your child?
  4. How can you secure the safety of your child when someone already gained the information?
  5. Why sharing information on the internet is not recommended?
